Tétouan is more than just a city to me—it’s a canvas of contrasts, textures, and fleeting moments. My latest series explores urban life after sunset, where neon lights dance with deep shadows and every corner tells a story.
The Project: Why Night?
This project began as an experiment during Ramadan evenings, walking through familiar neighborhoods at unfamiliar hours. I was drawn to the subtle light spilling from shop windows, the silhouettes of people disappearing into the alleys, and the reflections in puddles after a quick summer rain.
Equipment Used:
- Camera: Canon EOS R
- Lens: RF 35mm f/1.8
- Settings: Mostly handheld, ISO 1600–3200, f/1.8, 1/60s
- Editing: Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop for minor corrections and color grading
1. The Butcher’s Glow

A scene I passed dozens of times before, but that night, the raw red hue from the sign and the reflection on the tiles made it surreal.
2. Alley of Stories

An old man walked away just as I raised my camera—his figure merged into the textures of the wall, leaving behind only a trace of presence.
3. Blue Taxi, Still

The quiet hum of the city around this lone taxi made it feel cinematic. I stood still for minutes, just observing.
What I Learned
Night photography isn’t just about low light—it’s about slowing down and listening to the city breathe. It requires patience, sensitivity to contrast, and a deep respect for personal moments that happen when most people aren’t looking.
Behind the Scenes
If you’re curious about how I post-process my night shots, I shared a breakdown of this project on my Instagram and a video on YouTube.
