Over the past few weekends, I found myself retreating to the coastline of Martil and Cabo Negro—not for grand landscapes, but for quiet details. I wanted to explore how the ocean breathes, how light behaves over calm surfaces, and how a minimalist approach could tell a bigger story.
The Concept: Less is More
In a world flooded with visual noise, this project was about stripping away distractions. Using composition, negative space, and soft tones, I aimed to capture the serenity and quiet emotion of the sea.
Gear Used:
- Camera: Fujifilm X-T30 II
- Lens: XF 56mm f/1.2
- Settings: ISO 200–800, f/2.8–5.6, 1/250s
- Editing: Slight tone curve adjustments in Lightroom, no heavy retouching
1. Horizon Blur

I shot this before sunrise. The line between sky and water blurred naturally—no tricks, just patience.
2. Pebble and Foam

This was a moment I almost missed. A wave pulled back, leaving a perfect ring of foam around this one stone. I crouched and snapped.
3. Seagull in Frame

This shot taught me the value of waiting. I tracked the gull across several frames before I got this perfect composition—almost symmetrical.
Creative Process
I limited myself to 15 photos max for the entire series. Every frame was intentional. Each image needed to breathe.
What I Discovered
- Negative space feels meditative.
- The sea, when still, reflects not just light—but emotion.
- Minimalism is not emptiness; it’s elegance.
